Springs of Hope Foundation’s primary mission is to provide free vocational training and empowerment to young, marginally educated women from very poor backgrounds. However, being part of a very impoverished community makes it impossible for us not to recognise the inequities within the surrounding slums. It’s usually the girls who spend months at home due to a lack of school fees. It’s very difficult to keep up with their classmates when they’ve been out of school for half the year due to a lack of school fees. Plus, they don’t have textbooks, and they don’t have electricity in their homes, allowing them to study in the evening.
Springs of Hope Foundation was able to address and solve the various issues for fifteen fortunate girls within the neighbouring slums through very generous donations from two longtime supporters in 2024. Unfortunately, those funds have run out. Currently, we only have permanent monthly sponsors for two of the girls.
MEET ONE OF OUR SPONSORED HIGHSCHOOL GIRLS, JANE.
Jane is sixteen years old and a Form 2 student. Her performance was above average before COVID-19, when all the schools were closed for almost one year. Her mother is a single mother who does house help and hawking to sustain her family. With the hard financial times, she says no one is willing to give them jobs. Her children have been in and out of school due to fees ever since 2020.
Jane’s school fees are 6000/= ($50.00) per term. She has 6 siblings, and she is the 3rd born, four are still enrolled in school. The oldest brother had to drop out due to a lack of fees. Their father deserted them when financial times became hard, and her mother struggles to house, feed, and educate her family If you would like more information about sponsoring Jane, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT
