Emergency Food Distribution in Parkview, Nakuru After Weeks of Flooding

Parkview in Nakuru West is facing a deepening crisis after weeks of flooding caused by rising water levels from Lake Nakuru. As the lake expanded inland, water moved past roads and open areas and entered people’s homes. It did not stop at doorsteps. As a result, families lost houses, shops, and small kiosks they relied on for income. Floors remain covered with stagnant water mixed with debris and waste. At the same time, pathways have become muddy, slippery, and unsafe. Because of this damage, many families can no longer work. Casual labor, small trade, and daily income disappeared with the floodwater. Yet many residents remainRead More

Meals, Moments, and Community in Sewarage, Nakuru

This week, the Springs of Hope Foundation team carried out a food distribution in Sewarage, Nakuru. We delivered 60 hampers to some of the community’s most vulnerable residents. Elderly couples, single mothers, and individuals living with disabilities received packages filled with everyday food items, enough to last a week or two, and bring some comfort during tough times. For those who couldn’t make it to the collection point, family members came on their behalf, making sure no one missed out. Many residents expressed how much it meant to be remembered, that someone thought of them and cared enough to show up. Life in Sewerage isn’t easy.Read More

A Day of Discovery at Kentex Uniforms Factory

Our students recently set out for a unique Kentex Uniforms factory visit, a hands-on learning experience at one of Kenya’s leading school uniform manufacturers. The visit broadened their perspective, showing them that production extends far beyond the small sewing machines they use in training. When the students entered the factory, the steady hum of machines and the sight of fabric transforming immediately captured their attention. They watched giant cutting machines slice through stacks of cloth with precision, shaping pieces for shirts, skirts, and trousers. As a result, they gained valuable insight into the efficiency of large-scale operations. Afterward, the group moved to the embroidery section.Read More

Hope in a Hamper: 60 Families in Lanet Receive Food Support

This month, Springs of Hope Foundation carried out a food distribution in Mashini, Lanet, supporting 60 families with food hamper. An elderly grandfather smiles as he holds a small package of maize, beans, and green grams. “It may not seem like much,” he says softly, “but to me it is everything.” He is one of 60 families who received food hampers from Springs of Hope Foundation this month. The families we reached included elderly grandparents caring for grandchildren, as well as single mothers struggling to provide, and neighbors living with disabilities. Meanwhile, for many, daily life is a balancing act between rent, school fees, andRead More

FOOD HAMPERS DISTRIBUTION REPORT – NGORIKA & KANJUIRI RIDGES

Ngorika and Kanjuiri ridges is a vast area located in a remote and hilly area of Nakuru east Sub-county, off Nakuru -Nairobi Highway neighboring the Delamere Estate. This region is characterized by remoteness, impassable roads, and high incidences of disabilities. The presence of fluoride in water has a big impact on the community’s health especially teeth and weak bones. Lack of access to good healthcare has also contributed to many cases of disabilities arising from lack of primary health as well as pre and ante-natal care for pregnant women and post-natal care for young children. Home deliveries have also contributed to maternal mortality and avoidableRead More
